 Aquí dejo un retrato de mi hija que acabé hace unos días. Me apetecía hacer un retrato que no fuera únicamente del rostro así que cogí una foto que le hice hace un par de mese. Me gusta la pose y además el traje es ideal para dibujar, con lo puntitos y la chaqueta con textura. En esta imagen está casi terminado y que no tengo escaneado el dibujo acabado.


 Here It is a drawing of my daughter who ended a few days ago. I wanted to do a portrait not only of the face so I took a photo that I made a couple of months. I like the pose and the dress is also perfect for drawing, with dots and textured jacket. This is the drawing almost finished. I haven't scanned the drawing already finished yet.

Ya he terminado el dibujo. Finalmente le he añadido un toque de decoración al vestido y he decidido borrar la pierna y la falda porque creo que desviaban la atención y no aportaba nada. Me gusta el resultado. Aunque no lo parezca lleva unas cuantas horas de trabajo pero creo que ha merecido la pena.

I've finished the drawing. Finally I have added a touch of decoration to the dress and I decided to remove the leg and the foot because they add nothing. I like it.  It took me arround eight hours but I think it was worth.

Dejo el dibujo en el que estoy trabajando en estos días, y que está bastante avanzado. Como creo que ya comenté me estoy centrando en las sombra. Quiero que las sombras tengan protagonismo así que intentaré aumentar el contraste entre las partes mas iluminadas y las mas oscuras. Aunque aún no está terminado ( me falta conseguir la luz de los pliegues de la tela) estoy contento con el resultado.

Here it is the drawing in which I'm working on these days and that is quite advanced. As I already mentioned in my last post I'm focusing on the shadows. The shadows has a main role in this drawing so I'll try to increase the contrast between the lights and the shadows. Although not yet finished (I need to find the light of the folds) I'm happy with the result.

 Aquí dejo el dibujo del post anterior un poco mas avanzado. Ya tengo encauzado el rostro y el pelo así que voy a comenzar con el vestido. Le hecho unas cuantas fotos durante el proceso así que cuando tenga un rato las montaré y colgaré. Creo que va mejor de lo que parecía al principio. Conseguir esto me ha costado un par de horas. Tengo que seguir trabajando las sombras para darle el mayor realismo posible.


 Here It is the drawing of the previous post a little more advanced. I've almost finished the face and the hair so I'll start with the dress. I took some shots during the process so when I have some free time I'll post them. I think it goes better than it seemed at first. It takes me almost four hours. I've to keep working on the shadows to give it as realistic aspect as possible.

Aquí dejo el encaje de un dibujo que estoy preparando. No está terminado ya que falta ajustar los ojos, nariz y boca. Hasta que no acabe el encaje no empezaré a sombrear. La base la he tomado de una publicidad de bañadores y a partir de ese "maniquí" voy dibujando lo que a mi me interesa. Quiero hacer un vestido de seda, casi transparentes mecido por el viento. Veremos que sale al final.

Cleo's sketches/Bocetos de Cleo

Aquí dejo unos cuantos boceto de expresiones de uno de los personajes del libro del que estoy preparando las ilustraciones. Estamos intentando compaginar texto con ilustraciones aunque no siempre es fácil. Iré publicando  tanto dibujos terminados  como bocetos.



Here it is  a few sketches of face expressions of one of the characters in the book I am working on. We are trying to combine text with illustrations, though not always easy. I'll publish both finished drawings and sketches.

 Aquí dejo un boceto con el que he jugado un poco. Quería centrar la vista en la mirada pero no tenía claro como hacerlo así que al final me he decidido por enmarcar el dibujo con una sombra gris. este es el resultado. Here it is a sketch that I've played.

 I wanted to center the view on the look but was not sure how to do so in the end I decided to frame the picture with a gray shadow.

 Aquí dejo el vídeo en dos partes del dibujo que publiqué la semana pasada. Son de cinco minutos de duración cada uno aproximadamente. El dibujo en tiempo real me llevó casi una hora. Generalmente para este tipo de dibujos suelo tardar entre 4 y 5 horas pero para grabarlo, lo he tenido que hacer mas pequeño a lo que estoy acostumbrado y pararme bastante menos en los detalles.


 Here It is the video in two parts of the picture I posted last week. They are arround five minutes long each. The real-time drawing took me almost an hour. I spend arround five hours for do this kind of drawings. I had to make that smaller one reduce the time and record the process. I've drawing it with less details than others.

Aquí dejo este boceto. Me llevó alrededor de 45 minutos por lo que no tiene demasiado detalle. Tuve la paciencia de grabarlo en vídeo por lo que espero en breve colgar el proceso (en formato reducido, por supuesto).

Here It is a new sketch. It took me about 45 minutes so it doesn't have much detail. I had the patience to record it on video so I hope soon pos the process (in reduced format, of course).

five minuts drawing / cinco minutos de dibujo

Aquí dejo el enlace de 5 minutos del último dibujo que he hecho. Está acelerado para que dure un par de minutos. El vídeo no tiene demasiada calidad pero es cuestión de tiempo que empiece a mejorar este aspecto. Me puse a grabar cuando estaba en una avanzada etapa del sombreado de la ropa con la cara casi terminada.

 Here It is the 5 minutes of the last drawing I've done. I've increased de speed of the video so now is about two minutes long. The video does not have too much quality but is a matter of time I begin to improve this issue. I started recording when I was in an advanced stage of shading clothes with her ​​face almost finished.
