pencil portrait (detail)/ retrato a lápiz (detalle)

Últimamente he estado trabajando en varios proyectos personales, (como intentar aprender técnicas nuevas) que no me han dejado mucho tiempo para publicar. De todos modos sigo dibujando todos los días aunque no el tiempo que me gustaría.
Aquí dejo un detalle del último retrato que he terminado. Ella es Carla y la verdad es que da gusto verla con esos mofletes. Es un dibujo tamaño A2 (60x40 cms aprox.) y me gusta mucho como ha quedado a pesar de los complicado que es dibujar niños.


Lately I've been working on several personal projects (like trying to learn color techniques) that haven't left me a much time to post. Anyway keep drawing every day but not the time I'd like.
Here It is a detail of portrait that I finished . She is Carla and she is very pretty. It is a A2 size drawing  (60x40cms). I really like it.

Look. Scanned version /mirada. Version escaneada

Este es el dibujo que acabé hace un par de semanas pero escaneado en vez de fotografiado. He estado de traslado y no he podido escanear hasta hace podo. Creo que se puede ver la diferencia, siendo el mismo dibujo. La fotografía es mas rápida pero es bastante complicado conseguir que no aparezca ningún brillo por  lo que, prefiero publicar los trabajos de este modo. De paso he modificado el encuadre. Puesto que el dibujo era en principio un boceto (se pueden apreciar el rayado en varios puntos) no tuve en cuenta el encuadre y ocupé toda la hoja por lo que me quedó bastante encajado y eso hace que se pierda algo de gracia.


This is the drawing that I finished and posted a couple of weeks ago but scanned. I've been moving and I could not scan until now. I you can see the difference, still the same drawing. I prefer to post the work in this way. I modified the frame. The drawing was originally only a sketch (you can see the scratch at various points). I filled the sheet and that don't like very much.

hand sketches/ estudios de manos

Aquí dejo unos cuantos bocetos de manos. Creo que hay que dibujar unos cuantos cientos de manos para que comiencen a salir bien porque es muy complicado. Yo de vez en cuando lleno una página y siempre me parece que empiezo de cero.

Here It is a few sketches of hands. I think we should draw a few hundred hands to begin to do it well because it 's very dificult. I occasionally filled a sheet and always seem to I've started  to learn drawing again.

little crayon drawing / pequeño dibujo con colores

 Quería probar unos lápices de colores que tenía guardados, sin usar desde hace tiempo así que le hice este pequeño dibujo a mi hijo. Ya casi no me acordaba de pintar con colores pero ya que me he puesto ahora estoy preparando un retrato a ver hasta donde llego.


 I wanted to try some crayons I had saved, unused in a while so I made this little drawing to my son. I hardly remember how to paint with crayons. Now I'm going to do a portrait to see how far I get with them.

look - finished / mirada - terminado

Aquí dejo el dibujo del anterior post ya terminado. Estoy de traslado por lo que no puedo escanearlo así que publico una fotografía de dibujo. No se aprecian igual los detalles pero si las lineas generales. Al final detallé mas de lo que pensé al principio pero tampoco me costó demasiado tiempo así que cumplí en parte mi idea inicial. No se si se nota pero a mitad del dibujo le reduje la longitud de la nariz por lo que tuve que cambiar también la posición del labio. Eso requiera algo de goma y mucha paciencia Here It is the drawing of the previous post already finished. I can't scan at theese days so I'm going to post a drawing photo. With a photo, you can't see the details but you can see the broad outlines. Finally I drew it with more detail than I thought at first but it didn't take me too much time.

look/mirada

Aquí dejo el dibujo que acabo de empezar. Me apatecía hacer un primer plano. Por ahora no se si dibujar con mucho detalle o solo esbozar las sombras para remarcar la mirada. A veces es mas importante lo que transmite el dibujo que el dibujo en si. Lo he fotografiado en dos fases del dibujo para que se pueda ver como avanza.

Here It is the drawing that I just started. I wanted to draw a face very close. I'm not sure if is better to do a very detailed drawing or sketching the shadows only to emphasize the eyes. Sometimes it's more important what the picture conveys than the drawing itself. I've photographed two steps of the drawing so you can see the progress.

Cuando empecé a sombrear me di cuenta que el papel que había elegido no era el mejor para dibujar detalles (demasiado rugoso) pero ya era tarde. De todos modos he probado ha hacerlo con trazos mas gruesos sin tanto detalle y no ha quedado mal.

When I started shadowing I realized that the paper had chosen was not the best for drawing details (too rough) but it was too late. Anyway I have tested it with thicker strokes without much detail and it seems good.

dibujo previo al entintado

Este es en vídeo del proceso de un dibujo para una ilustración. Está en azul para posteriormente entintarlo. Cuando lo entinte en negro tengo que borrar el azul ya sea con goma o mediante photoshop.

man sketch / boceto de hombre de pie

Esto es un estudio de figura masculina. Saqué el modelo de un catálogo de moda (que son muy útiles para practicar). No me llevó mucho tiempo ya que lo que quería era conseguir la forma y darle unos trazos rápidos para las sombras. Bocetar es una de las cosas que mas me gustan y hacer dibujos rápidos también.

This is a sketch of male figure. I took the model of a fashion catalog (which are very useful to drawing practice). It didn't take me a long time because I only wanted to get the form and give it a few quick strokes to the shadows.  One of the things that I like is  make sketches.

illustration to paint/ilustracion para pintar

Aquí dejo una ilustración preparada para pintar. Finalmente no la voy a entintar porque creo que queda bien que se vea el trazo del lápiz. Tengo bocetados otros dos con los mismos personajes como parte de una historia mayor. Espero ver el resultado de éste antes de comenzar con los otros.


Here It is a drawing ready to paint. Finally I won't ink it because I think it looks good when you can see the pen stroke. I have sketched other two with the same characters as part of a bigger story. I hope to see the outcome of this one before starting the other.
