Aquí dejo otro video del proceso de dibujo del ojo, en concreto del momento de dar luces al ojo. No es de muy buena calidad pero está tomado con el móvil y con una mano dibujaba y con la otra grababa. Tengo que buscar otro método mejor para hacerlo. Con respecto a las luces pienso que dan mucha luminosidad al ojo y sobre todo aportan realismo. Son una parte muy importante del dibujo.

Helena process. Part 4/ Helena en proceso parte 4

El dibujo ya está casi terminado. Le he modificado un poco los labios por que me pareció que eran un poco pequeños. Me queda terminar los detalles del traje y ajustar un poco las sombras.

The drawing is almost finished. I've changed a bit their lips because I thought they were a bit small. I have to  finish the details of costume and set a little shadow.

Helena process. Part 3/ Helena en proceso parte 3

Este es el dibujo un poco mas avanzado. Aún falta para terminarlo pero ya se ven los volúmenes en algunas zonas. Como ya he comentado en alguna ocasión dibujar algunas zonas oscuras al principio me ayuda tener una referencia para poder sombrear correctamente el resto del dibujo.


Here it is a little more advanced drawing. It isn't finished yet but  yu can see the volumes  in some areas. As I said I like to draw some dark areas at first steps of the work. It helps to have a reference to properly shade the rest of the drawing.

Aquí dejo los primeros trazos del dibujo en el que estoy trabajado. Aún queda bastante trabajo, incluso de encaje. Está hecho en un A4 y me he dado cuenta (tarde) que me he quedado corto en la elección del papel pero ya es tarde.


Here it is the first lines of the drawing I'm  working on. There remains much work. It's made in A4 and I realized (later) that I was wrong about the choice of the size of the paper but it is too late.

Tengo algunos retratos inacabados. Principalmente encargos comenzados pero que en un momento dado el cliente dejó de dar señales de vida (y por supuesto nunca pagó). No sabía que hacer con ellos así que los voy a ir colgando.

En este caso he pasado el dibujo por el filtro de photoshop para darle color y le he dado un poco de luz a los ojos. Como se puede ver, está en una primera fase (entre 2 y 3 horas de trabajo) pero suficiente como para ver los volúmenes.


I have some unfinished portraits. They are drawings I started but at some point the client ceased to give signs (and of course I never be paid). I didn't know what to do with them so I'm going to post them.

In this drawing I've colored it with a photoshop filter of color and I have given some light to the eyes. As can be seen, is in a first stage (2 to 3 hours of work) but enough to see the volumes.

learning to draw / aprendiendo a dibujar

Aquí dejo un par de hojas del cuaderno que estoy preparando estoy días. Son las primeras nociones para los que empiezan a dibujar. Lo he pensado para que sea de descarga gratuita y depende de la acogida que tenga prepararé mas.
No me queda mucho para terminarlo aunque es mas el trabajo de aprender el programa y conocer sus posibilidades que el cuaderno en si.
Cuando lo termine tendrá unas 30 hojas en donde explico los materiales utilizar y uno o dos dibujos paso a paso.

Aquí dejo el dibujo que posteé hace unos días pintado con photoshop. Normalmente antes de pintarlo, lo entinto y borro el lápiz. En este caso he pintado directamente del dibujo a lápiz. El entintado es mas limpio pero a mi me gusta mas que queden las marcas del lápiz

Here I leave the drawing that I posted a few days ago painted with photoshop. I usually ink the drawing at first and then I delete the pencil lines before painting it. In this case I painted directly from the pencil drawing. The inked drawing is cleaner than pencil drawing but I like to see the remaining pencil marks.

Viking proccess II/Vikingo-proceso II

Aquí dejo la segunda imagen del proceso de dibujo de un guerrero vikingo. El dibujo está hecho un un hoja de 50x70 cms así que no es pequeño. Me gustaría cambiarle algo los ojos porque parece que tiene la mirada perdida y creo que la voy a colocar en la espalda o un escudo o un hacha.

Viking proccess /Vikingo-proceso

Aquí dejo el último dibujo que en el que estoy trabajando. Aún le queda mucho trabajo. La idea era hacer un personaje tipo vikingo o soldado de la primera guerra mundial pero con el rostro cansado, triste después de la batalla. A ser posible añadirle manchas de barro o sangre y alguna herida. Todavía no se como voy a conseguir ese efecto así que trabajaré en el hasta que quede bien o me canse.

Here It is the last picture that I'm working on. Still lie ahead a hard work . The idea was to make a Viking-type character or a soldier of the First World War but his face tired and sad after the battle. I want to add mud or blood and some injury. I still don't know how to do this effect so I'll draw on it until succeeds.

Aquí dejo un boceto de un dibujo que me viene rondando. La idea es un guerrero/a descansando, con las marcas de la lucha a la sombra de un árbol. Puede ser con el rostro cansado después de la batalla o cabreado como el el caso. Como creo que no puedo dibujar tanto por ahora me centro en el personaje. Lo cierto es que me gustaría dibujar el árbol en una colina proyectando su sombra sobre el guerrero pero para eso o tengo que hacer el dibujo muy grande o el personaje pequeño. Ya veremos. También quiero probar a hacerlo en color pero no se si es mucho pedir.

Here it is a sketch of a drawing that I want to do. The idea is a warrior (man or woman) resting, with marks of the fight in the shade of a tree. Este dibujo está en su última etapa (de hecho lo acabé anoche así que el fin de semana lo escanearé y lo colgaré).
Quería darle un toque fantástico así que le dibujé colmillos de vampiro pero no que acabó de convencer y se los borré. Me gusta su mirada y lo he rematado con un peto medieval que le da fuerza. Me gusta como ha quedado.


This drawing is in its final stage (in fact I finished it last night so this weekend I'll scan and post it).
I wanted to give it fantasy touch so I drew her a vampire fangs but finally I erased them. I like her look and I finished it with a medieval breastplate that gives you strength. I like how it looks.

Poco a poco voy terminando el dibujo. Aún me queda dar mas volumen con la sobra aparte de terminar la katana pero ya queda menos. Creo que se ve un poco deformado por la perspectiva de la foto.



I am slowly finishing the drawing. I still have to give more volume with the shadows and i have to finish the katana. I think it looks a bit distorted by the perspective of the photo.

Este es el dibujo en el que estoy trabajando ahora (junto a otros cuatro o cinco mas).
Tenía la idea de dibujar una mujer con una katana en donde solo se vieran los ojos la espada y la mano sujetándola. No se si al final dejaré la boca o haré el dibujo mas apaisado todavía.


This is the drawing I'm working on now (with four or five more.)
I had the idea to draw a woman with a katana but only wanted to show the eyes, the sword and the hand holding it. I'm not sure if I'm going to draw the mouth or I'm going to cut it.

Me gusta como ha quedado este último dibujo. He intentado enmarcar el rostro dejando en blanco el abrigo. Creo que es una buena solución para captar la atención de lo importante, como en una fotografía en donde hay partes desenfocadas. El proceso de dibujo se encuentra en este post.

I like this drawing. I tried to frame the face leaving the coat in white color. I think it's a good solution to catch the attention of what is important, as in a photograph where there are unfocused areas . The drawing process is in this post.

Este es el dibujo en el que estoy trabajando ahora. Voy a intentar suavizar las sombras lo mas posible y jugar mas con los blancos a ver como queda.

con un lápiz y un escaner

Es un método sencillo pero efectivo. He escaneado el dibujo unas ocho veces durante el proceso de dibujo y los he montado con un programa gratuito (photostage slideshow) y este es es el resultado. Se puede ver claramente del proceso de dibujo desde las primeras lineas hasta el sombreado final de la ropa.

I scanned the drawing about eight times during the process of drawing and I've ridden them with a free program (PhotoStage slideshow) and this is the result. You can clearly see the process of drawing from the first lines to the final shade of clothing.
